Using AluSmart
These terms govern your use of AluSmart — a B2B marketplace for aluminium and related raw materials with live market data, RFQs, supplier ratings, and reports. By creating an account or using any part of the platform you agree to them.
1. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to bind your company to commercial agreements.
- Provide accurate details — name, email, mobile, company. If you list products as a seller, your GSTIN may be required for B2B invoicing.
- You're responsible for keeping your password safe. Notify us right away if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One person, one account. Sharing logins is not permitted.
2. Plans & subscriptions
Every new account starts on the Free plan with limited monthly quotas (RFQs, active products, alerts, AI insights per day). Upgrading to a paid plan from Pricing lifts those limits — see the live caps on the Billing page for the plan you choose.
Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or yearly) unless you cancel before renewal. Cancelling drops you back to Free at the end of the current period; you keep paid features until then.
3. Marketplace listings
- You may only list products you have the legal right to sell. Counterfeit, mis-graded, or stolen material is forbidden.
- Listings must accurately describe price, quantity, grade, specifications, and availability locations.
- AluSmart is a venue — we don't take title to the goods and don't act as an agent for either side of a transaction. Contracts form directly between buyer and seller.
- Your supplier name is hidden by default; the AluSmart team unhides it after manual verification. Buyers see "Verified seller" until then.
4. RFQs & quotes
- An RFQ is always tied to a specific product listing — direct creation from the menu is disabled.
- One open RFQ per buyer per product. Close or award the existing one before starting a new one.
- Quotes submitted by sellers are binding offers for the validity window stated in the RFQ.
- Awarding a quote indicates intent to transact; the actual contract, delivery, and settlement happen between buyer and seller.
5. Supplier ratings & reviews
Buyers can rate a supplier from 1 to 5 stars (half-step). Re-rating replaces the buyer's previous rating — only the most recent value counts toward the average. Ratings must be based on a genuine transaction or interaction; fake or coordinated ratings violate these terms and will be removed.
6. Market price data
Live prices on the dashboard, Market Prices page, and reports are sourced from MetalpriceAPI and ExchangeRate-API, refreshed on a schedule (default once per day, configurable). Each refresh stores a snapshot in our database so historical charts work without further external calls.
Prices are reference data only — not a quotation or binding offer. AluSmart is not responsible for trading decisions you make based on them. The "Live" badge in the page header indicates whether the latest fetch succeeded.
7. Payments & refunds
- Subscription payments are processed by Razorpay (default) or Stripe. Card / UPI / bank details are handled entirely by the provider — AluSmart never sees or stores them.
- Successful payments unlock the chosen plan immediately. Failed payments don't change your current plan.
- Refunds for subscription fees are not offered after the billing cycle has started, except where required by law.
- Transactional disputes between buyer and seller (delivery, quality, payment terms) are outside AluSmart's responsibility — please raise them directly with the counter-party.
8. Prohibited uses
- Scraping product / user / price data with automated tools, or attempting to bypass plan limits.
- Posting false, misleading, or inflammatory content in chat, reviews, or RFQ notes.
- Attempting to identify a "Verified seller" through side-channel means when their name is hidden.
- Using AluSmart to send spam, phish, or move material outside the platform purely to evade fees or oversight.
- Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or probing the platform for vulnerabilities outside an authorised security disclosure.
9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
AluSmart is provided "as is" without warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the platform is capped at the total subscription fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — including lost profits, missed opportunities, or damage from acting on market-price data or AI recommendations.
10. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, abuses the platform, or fails to pay subscription dues. You may close your account at any time from Settings or by emailing the address below. On termination, your listings are hidden, your data is retained for the periods set out in the Privacy Policy, then deleted.
11. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute that can't be resolved through good-faith discussion will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
12. Changes to these terms
If we update these terms materially we'll notify you inside the app. Continued use after the update means you accept the new terms.
